Serenade - An Illusion (also known as KODO) by Ayuo

Serenade - An Illusion (also known as KODO) by Ayuo

I wrote this poem on Valentine's Day, 2002, while working on the music for the "Rock Art" exhibition by the painter, graphic designer and experimental film director, Kiyoshi Awazu.
Later on, I recorded this as the words to the song "KODO" on the "RED MOON" CD (AYUO/ OHTA HIROMI)released on TZADIK records from New York City.
They are the words for the music I wrote for the experimental film "NUDE" by Kiyoshi Awazu.

The film may be viewed on You Tube on the following link:

Serenade - An Illusion by Ayuo

In the silence between words
I hear your heartbeat

In the stillness of the night
I hear the glass breathe

She stands behind the wall
As the sea cries
Between the breath of an unknown moon
Pouring music for the dancing shadows
Making love on the wall
The movement of the sands
Swept by a breath
Where the sea kisses the sky

Melting colors of the horizon
While the moon stands in disbelief
At the changing scenery
And the growing lawn
Eating away the pureness of the night

In the silence between words
I hear your heartbeat

In the stillness of the night
I hear the glass breathe

He stands on the other side
Watching the movements of the glass
And the moon cries
While he is absorbed in his serenade
Making music for the dancing shadows
And the movements on the lawn
Projecting illusions on the ancient rocks

melting colors of the night
The moist green, the orange squeezed
While the sea kisses the sky
Admist the noise of the grass
The breath of a rose, the scent of fear
He understands not why she stands
Behind the wall

In the silence between words
I hear your heartbeat

In the stillness of the night
I hear the glass breathe
